OVERLAND PARK -- Fort Scott Community College's baseball team moved into a third-place tie in the Jayhawk Conference-Eastern Division after splitting a conference doubleheader against Johnson County here Tuesday.

The Greyhounds are now 9-7 in the East and 17-14 overall. They're tied for third with Kansas City Kansas (15-8 overall). Both teams are ahead of Independence and Allen County, both 10-8 in the division, on percentage points (.563 to .555).

Kansas City also moved up while simultaneously forcing Allen County to go down when the Blue Devils swept a conference doubleheader, 3-2 and 5-3, from Allen on Tuesday. Independence did not play Tuesday, its twinbill with last-place Labette postponed due to wet grounds in Parsons.
