The Kansas Department of Transportation's 2008 annual report, which details the agency's progress, accomplishments and challenges in 2007, has been posted on the KDOT Web site, a written KDOT statement said.

In 2007, KDOT completed the draft Kansas Long Range Transportation Plan; maintained the agency's dedicated to safety, system maintenance and preservation; completed major projects and started others. The agency also faced many challenges last year. Among them were natural disasters, new infrastructure needs and future funding uncertainties, the KDOT statement said.

In addition to a review of the year's activities, the report includes an appendix that has details of project selection, a description of all projects scheduled for the Comprehensive Transportation Program (fiscal years 2000 to 2009), financial information and more. The report and appendix can be viewed online at www.ksdot.org/publications.asp

In keeping with S.B. 357, which was passed by the 2007 Kansas Legislature and intended to reduce spending by all state agencies on the printing of annual reports, a limited number of paper copies of the report are available by calling the KDOT Bureau of Transportation Information at (785) 296-3585, or by e-mail to publicinfo@ksdot.org.
