Hard labor

City workers work Monday morning to break up rock that patched a hole at the corner of First and Main streets. Officials said the patch covered up a hole where workers had recently repaired a leak in a water line. Workers used heavy machinery, shovels and other equipment to break up the rock, making it easier to scoop up and haul off. They planned to have the patched portion of the street leveled out to begin re-laying the bricks by late Monday morning, officials said.
