Cost-Share signup
The Bourbon County Conservation District administers a state cost share program designed to conserve soil, and protect water resources. The district is conducting a sign-up for cost share funds beginning Feb. 1, 2008, continuing through March 15, 2008. These funds will be available for use after July 1, 2008.
Bourbon County landowners with natural resource concerns are encouraged to visit the office during the sign-up to discuss solutions and possible state financial assistance.

Scottish Rite Masons February
meeting in Iola
The February stated meeting for the Valley of Fort Scott will be at the Iola Masonic Lodge No.38, 213 W. Madison, Iola.
Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m., followed by the stated meeting at 7:30 p.m. The Brothers of Iola Lodge are making arrangements for the meal.
Reservations are required for the meal no later than noon Friday, by calling the Temple at (620) 223-1330 or Jerry Skidmore at (620) 365-6200. The meal will feature chicken, and will be $8 per person
The meeting will be for Scottish Rite Masons only.
For those traveling from the Fort Scott area, members will plan to leave the Temple at 5 p.m., to caravan to Iola.
