Presbyterian Village receives zero deficiencies for second straight year
A local adult-care facility strives to provide outstanding services to every tenant who lives in its village. One recent survey completed on the facility testifies to this fact.
Fort Scott Presbyterian Village has received zero deficiencies for the second year in a row from a recent regulatory survey for their assisted living apartments, according to a press release provided by the facility.
According to the press release, a regulatory survey is to ensure that the facility is operating properly.
"A regulatory survey consists of a team which ensures cleanliness, safety and quality control for the care provided at adult care homes in the state of Kansas on behalf of federal programs, primarily Medicare and Medicaid," the statement said.
The surveyors, who completed the survey, remarked that the Village was full of gentle and caring staff.
According to Fort Scott Presbyterian Village Executive Director Ginger Dierksen, the facility usually does not receive many deficiencies during a survey. However, lately, they have been able to pass the test with zero.
"Traditionally, the Village has passed surveys with very few deficiencies on the care we provide. However, the first few years we moved that to zero deficiencies, a result we understand only a small number of providers in Kansas achieve. To receive that same distinction two surveys in a row proves that our staff is committed to quality standards in the services we provide," Dierksen said.
Since the Village strives to provide outstanding services to every tenant who lives at the facility, the results of the survey shows that even areas that were not investigated in the survey show commitment from the staff, who help residents live their lives the way they want to live them.
"Our residents and their families constantly share with me examples of our staff going above and beyond making people comfortable and provide exciting and eventful activities everyone can participate in," Dierksen said.
According to the press release, the Kansas Department of Aging inspects all long-term care providers in Kansas on a regular basis to make sure that each one is following the set standards.
