THOMAS EDWIN LAND

Thomas Edwin Land, 79, of Smithville, Mo., formerly of Fort Scott, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008.

Survivors include his children, Wayne Land, Houston, Mo., Vicki Thomas and husband Richard, Smithville, Mo., Debbie Shook and husband John, Houston, Mo., and Tom Land and wife, Glenda, Omaha, Neb., Lori Barnard and husband Michael, Bolivar, Tenn., and Stacy Wheeler, Kearney, Mo.; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Land, Kimberling City, Mo., and sister Mary K. Turley, Fort Scott.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville, Mo. Burial with military honors will take place at the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Smithville. Masonic services will take place at 6 p.m. Friday with visitation following until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
