GARNETT -- Two Jayhawks earned medals as Jayhawk-Linn's wretling team took part in the Anderson County Tournament here Saturday.

Caleb Jackson, 7-2 this season, earned second place at 285 pounds as he went 2-1 in the day. He was pinned by Ottawa's Sam Blecha in the finals.

Briar Snyder, 5-5, wrestling at 160, went 2-2 on the day and earned fourth place. He was pinned by Cherryvale's Robert Lane in the third-place match.

Results of other matches were not available.

The Jayhawks placed ninth out of the 10 teams present with 32 points. Caney Valley was the tournament champion with 181 points followed by host Anderson County with 156 1/2 and Osawatomie with 153.

The Jayhawks were scheduled to travel to Wellsville tonight to take on the host Eagles and Anderson County in a triangular. The Jayhawk-Linn school district did not hold classes today, so it is not likely the Jayhawks were able to attend.

The varsity team isn't scheduled to wrestle again until Jan. 5 but the JV will be in a tournament at Wellsville that is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday
