PLEASANTON -- Uniontown swept a non-league triangular here Tuesday night to finish the regular season with a record of 20-15.

The Eagles defeated Marmaton Valley, 25-18, 25-17, and Pleasanton, 25-7, 25-20.

Abbie Smith recorded nine kills for the Eagles in the marmaton Valley match and four in the Pleasanton match.

"It was good to come away with two wins headed into Saturday's Sub-State," Uniontown head coach Jackie Hall said. "We improved our coverages and did a better job at times of communicating on the court with each other. But that is something that (still) must be improved on."

Uniontown's junior varsity finished the season with a 26-3 record after beating Marmaton Valley, 25-8, 25-14, and Pleasanton, 25-8, 21-25, 25-9. Jessie Camac was the leading server for the Eagles in both matches. She served seven points against Marmaton Valley and 19 against the Blu-Jays.

The varsity was 3-2 at the Central Heights Tournament Saturday. The Eagles lost their first match to Girard, 25-12, 25-16. They also lost to the host Vikings, 25-21, 25-15.

Uniontown then defeated Kansas City (Mo.) Metro Academy, 25-22, 26-24, Erie, 25-14, 25-18, and K.C. Metro again in a rematch, 25-20, 20-25, 25-11.
