Waiting for the word

Lowell Milken Center Director Norm Conard speaks with local resident Sabrina Murphy about the Friday announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize winners at the Lowell Milken Center, 4 S. Main St. Conard and Murphy are both involved in the longtime international effort to share the story of Irena Sendler, who was nominated for the peace prize because of her efforts to rescue more than 2,500 Jewish children from Nazi occupiers in Poland during the Holocaust. The award went to former vice-president Al Gore and the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. A breakfast was held Friday morning at the center as a group of local residents waited for the announcement.
