Bourbon County 4-Hers, FFA exhibit at Kansas Junior Livestock Show

Eleven Bourbon County 4-Hers and FFA members exhibited in the Kansas Junior Livestock Show in Wichita September 21-23, 2007.  There were over 1,350 entries during this three day show held at the Kansas Coliseum; which set a 20 year record.

Haley Melton was named Champion Senior Showman in the meat goat division. Reserve Champion Senior Swine showman went the Cheyenne Wiley. Wiley also won her class of ewe lamb wether dams. Second place winners from Bourbon County were Reed Gleason, commercial heifer; Clint Leatherman, Hampshire barrow; and Wiley, crossbred market lamb and ewe lamb wether dam.

 Other top 10 class winners from the county were Amanda Brown, crossbred market lamb (2), ewe lamb wether dam; Jonah Ericson, meat goat; Chase Gleason, Hampshire barrow; Haley Melton, ewe lamb wether dam, meat goat; Alex Miller, meat goat; Danielle Nading, meat goat; Clint Leatherman, crossbred barrow, natural market lamb (2); Nick Russell, crossbred steer; and  Cheyenne Wiley, crossbred barrow (2); crossbred market lamb. Clayton Nading also entered a crossbred market hog.
