Julie Marie Walker
Julie Marie Walker Moss, 44, of Lanagan, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri after a courageous battle with melanoma cancer.
Julie entered this life on May 28, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri born to Robert Leroy and Martha Jane (Golding) Honn. She moved with her family to McDonald County, Missouri as a child. She graduated from Crowder College with a degree in hotel management. For over fifteen years she resided in Joplin, Missouri and from 1990 to 2002 she owned and operated Eddies Spaghetti Restaurant in Webb City, Missouri. Julie also worked as an Avon Representative for twelve years and was most recently employed by H&R Block Taxes. In 2005, she came home to Lanagan, Missouri where her heart truly belonged. Julie dearly loved the Lanagan area and the people that lived there. She was a lady of many talents and interests. Julie enjoyed days that were filled with fishing and more importantly, making memories with her beloved family. She was a dedicated mother and wife and took great pleasure in the company of her loved ones. Julie will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all her family and friends.
Her father, Robert Honn preceded her in death.
On June 26, 1999 she was united in marriage to Larry Joe Moss and he survives of the home; additional survivors include, two daughters, Jennifer Marie Garlick of St. Louis, Missouri and Heather Jo Moss of the home; two sons, Steven Eugene Walker of Arkansas City, Kansas and Jerald Dewayne Moody of Lanagan, Missouri; a granddaughter, Ashley Marie Garlick; her mother, Martha Jane Honn of Webb City, Missouri; two sisters, Janet Louise Mahurin of Afton, Oklahoma and Joyce Ann Buttrum of Peculiar, Missouri; a brother, Roger Chapman of the state of Washington; and a close nephew, Joey Dean Mahurin of Afton, Oklahoma; as well as a lot of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Julie Marie Walker Moss are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, 2007 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastors Ronald Day and David Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Lanagan Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Steven Walker, Jerald Moody, Bob Bonebrake, R.D. Moring, Joey Mahurin and Bob Corcoran. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Griffith, Harold Haley and Melvin Vanatta. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
