Thinclads run at Four Oaks

PITTSBURG -- Catherine Sercer finished in third place in the varsity girls' race at the Pittsburg Cross-Country Invitatiional at Four Oaks Golf Course here Thursday.

Sercer ran the course in 17:11. Maggie Tanal of Lamar, Mo., was the race winner in 16:41 while Abby Nelly of Chanute was second in 17:10.

Kaylee Harper placed eighth for the Tigers with a time of 17:22 while Sarah Gray finished 24th in 18:52.

Charlie Sercer finished 24th in the varsity boys' race with a time of 18:28. Trevor Hinkle of Nevada was the winner in 16:31.

Erica Davis was 15th in the girls' junior varsity race in a time of 20:38, earning a medal for the Tigers. Kim Stone was 28th in 23:56.

The Tigers didn't enter any JV boys' runners.

Fort Scott will travel to Independence for a meet next Thursday. The first race there will begin at 4 p.m.
