Lewis wins first in essay contest
Tiffany Lewis, a third-year medical student in Kansas City, won first place in the the Osteopathic History and Identity History Essay contest.
She will receive a $5,000 cash prize on Sept. 29 at the National AOA Convention in San Diego, Calif.
This honor will be reviewed for possible publication in the Journal of American Osteopathic Association.
Tiffany was also the recent recipient of the Mary Lou Butterworth Academic Scholarship of $2,100 from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, where she plans to pursue a career in radiology or cardiology upon graduation.
Lewis is in a dual degree program, where she will earn her master's of business administration degree in health care leadership from Rockhurst University.
Lewis is the daughter of Kitty Lewis and the late Jerry Lewis.
She is the granddaughter of Marjorie Lewis and the late Marvin Lewis of Fort Scott and Tim and Ellen Mullane of Sun City, Ariz.
