William G. "Bill" Bolton
William G. "Bill" Bolton, 72, of Fort Scott, Kan., died Saturday morning, Sept. 8, 2007, at his home. He was born on April 17, 1935 on the Family farm near Council Grove, Kan., the son of E. Phil and Gladys Hazel Metzger Bolton. He married Patricia Anne Tipling on Aug. 23, 1959 in Muscotah, Kan. She survives of the home. Bill served in the United States Navy from 1954 until 1960. He was a Chemistry Instructor at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kan., for 27 years. His passions included Teaching, Flying and participating in church activities. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Liberal, Kan.; after moving to Fort Scott he became a member of the First Presbyterian Church here; he served on the Building & Grounds Committees at both churches. In addition to his wife, Pat, he is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Renee Bradford and husband, Merl of Riverside, Mo., and Constance Zoe Townzen and husband Darren of Rogers, Ark., a brother, Albert G. Bolton of Kansas City, Kan., and four grandchildren, Andrew and Emily Bradford and Laura and Daniel Townzen. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George and Gene Bolton. Rev. Steve MacArthur will conduct funeral services for Bill Bolton at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Scott. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 7 - 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home.
