Tiger soccer takes another loss

PITTSBURG -- Fort Scott High School's soccer team took a 7-2 loss to rival Pittsburg at the PHS soccer field here Thursday evening.

The Tigers, 0-2 in the Southeast Kansas League and overall, trailed just 3-2 at halftime as Josh Nunez scored on a cross from Chris McAllister and Jesse Brown scored from a corner kick.

Pittsburg evened its season record at 1-1 after winning in its first SEK match of the season.

Fort Scott's junior varsity took a 2-1 loss to fall to 0-1-1 on the season. The Tigers led 1-0 at the half.

Fort Scott plays its home opener Tuesday afternoon against Neosho, Mo. The varsity game begins at 4:30 p.m. with the junior varsity match to follow at about 6:15 at Ellis Park at 12th and Willliams streets. The Tigers will play four of their next five matches at home.
