'Pursuit of Profits' seminar slated for Sept. 27
Nevada, Mo. -- The fifth annual Kaysinger Business Conference will be held on Sept, 27, at Cottey College in Nevada, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The seminar, "Pursuit of Profits" will feature a full day of exciting and informative speakers that will allow business owners and entrepreneurs to invest in themselves. Steve Flick of Flick Seed Company and Missouri Bioenergy will start off the day by sharing his experiences with raising funds through creative and collaborative efforts. Mary Schanzer, the owner of Party Personnel, will speak to overcoming obstacles -- a topic with which she is intimately familiar. Both keynote speakers have built very successful companies and will serve to educate and inspire other business owners.
Two educational tracts will be offered -- one for business owners and one for aspiring business owners. The "Growth for Existing Businesses Tract" will consist of sessions on "Business Valuation (What's Your Business Worth?);" "Increasing Revenue through Increased Sales;" and "Marketing Strategies." The "Startup Considerations Tract" will offer tips on "Business Planning," "Funding New Businesses;" and "Protecting Proprietary Rights."
Existing and aspiring entrepreneurs are encouraged to "invest in themselves" by attending the conference to gain new perspective, examine new ideas and reenergize. Most business owners hope to sell their business for retirement. Existing owners will learn how to increase the value of their business and raise the odds of a successful exit. For those thinking of starting a new business, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire the knowledge of the ins and outs of starting your own business.
The KBC committee is made up of organizations that recognize the importance of continuing education for small business owners. They also are aware of how difficult it is for business owners and employees to find the resources to help their business prosper.
With that in mind, the KBC was formed to provide information and inspiration to small businesses, as well as a forum for those businesses to review products and services from local providers. KBC serves a 10-county area in west-central Missouri and is partially funded by a Rural Business Enterprise Grant from the USDA, as well as registration fees.
