BCAC seeks items for annual

The Bourbon County Arts Council will conduct its 20th annual Garagarama fund-raising event on Sept. 15 in the 4-H Building at the Bourbon County Fairgrounds.

The BCAC is a non-profit organization that promotes and supports the arts in Fort Scott and throughout Bourbon County. The arts council takes part in a number of activities in the community.

These include presenting arts programming in the schools, participating in the annual Gordon Parks Celebration of Culture and Diversity, and taking part in the Echoes of the Trail Cowboy Poetry Gathering and Celebration of the West. The BCAC also sponsors the Annual Fine Arts Exhibit and presents special events such as the K-State Singers and Ron Radford in concert.

The arts council is asking for donations of clean, usable items for the event. Items may be brought to the 4-H Building from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 14. Pick up of large items may be made by calling (620) 223-6159.

The Bourbon County Arts Council is a 501(c)3 organization and donation forms are available upon request.
