A half-century of service

Atkins Insurance agents Ann Stark and Patty West are celebrating the insurance agency's 100th year in business. In 1907, E.G. Atkins established the insurance agency. It was later passed down to his sons, Garland Atkins and Marty Atkins. Garland's son-in-law, Ron Dodson, was next in the succession of owners. Stark and West were both working for Dodson when he passed away. The business was purchased by Stark and West from Dodson's widow. Tribune photo/Rayma Silvers
