Marilyn Jean Volden

Marilyn Jean Volden, 71, of Fort Scott, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at the Mercy Health Center. She was born Nov. 5, 1935 in Hiattville, Kan., the daughter of Harold James and Glessner Viola (Shankel) Talbot.

She was the Dietary Supervisor at Sunbridge Nursing Home in Clovis, N.M. for many years before coming back to the Fort Scott area. She was a member of the Community Christian Church in Fort Scott.

Marilyn is survived by a daughter; Pamela Sara Adreme-Ewing and her husband Doug of Kingman, Ariz., a brother; Don Talbot and his wife Lucy of Claremore, Okla., two sisters; Janice DeLoach and her husband Darrell of St. Augustine, Fla.., and Darlene Kriete and her husband Erve of Washington, Mo., two grandchildren; Melynda Crouch of Clovis, N.M., and Jonathan Crouch of Republic, Mo., six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Lavonn Miller, and Barbara Turner, and two brothers; Lyle Talbot, and Dale Talbot.

Graveside services for Marilyn will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007 at the Evergreen Cemetery, Fort Scott. Services are under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 W. Wall Street, Fort Scott, Kan.
