KENT GERARD COINER
Kent Gerard Coiner, 49 of Independence, Mo., passed away, Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Truman Medical Center Lakewood. The family will greet friends from 5: 30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence, Mo.
Kent was born June 14, 1958 in Fort Scott, Kan., to Lawrence and Margaret Jo (Howell) Coiner. He graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1976, attended Fort Scott Community College and later attended Pittsburg State University. He worked as a security officer for AT&T. Kent was a gunsmith who enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and leatherwork. He was a Kansas Hunter Safety instructor, a member of the NRA, Professional Gunsmith's of America in Lexington, Mo., and the Old Fort Sharp Shooters in Fort Scott, Kan. Kent was a genuine nice guy who never met a stranger, and had an infectious personality and wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed cheering
Coiner people up with either words or, as a last resort, food. He is survived by a sister; Sister Catherine Coiner of Hulbert, Okla.; an uncle; John F. Howell of La Cygne, Kan., and many friends who will miss him dearly. Father Kline will celebrate the Funeral Mass for Kent 10 a.m. Friday Aug. 3, 2007 at the Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening, Aug. 2, 2007 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.
