Storyteller presentation June 25

Wednesday, June 20, 2007

The 2007 Library summer reading program, "Get a Clue @ Your Library" will host Kansas City storyteller, Jo Ho at 3 p.m., Monday, June 25 at the Fort Scott Public Library.

Bring your "Why's?" to the library this summer and join globe trotting "Shirleylocks Holmes", alias storyteller Jo Ho, as she tells mysterious tales of how things came to be and why things are the way they are. Inquisitive minds will find out in a tale from India how a stick becomes a drum, why spiders hang out in the comer of an attic in a South African tale, and many more mind boggling multicultural solution-solving stories.

Ms. Ho's stories are very entertaining and enjoyed by audiences of all ages. In a unique, theatrical style other own, Jo invites listeners to participate in the interactive program. Come to laugh and for some fun role-playing opportunities.

Appearing throughout the U.S. at libraries, schools, and festivals since 1989, she has been a featured teller at the Atlanta Storytelling Festival, Baton Rouge's Earth Day, Bankoh Storytelling Festival in Honolulu, Hawaii, Nebraska's Annual Storytelling Festival, Kansas Storytelling Festival in Downs, and Kansas City's Storytelling Celebration.

This summer marks the 18th summer library tour for Ms. Ho. She looks forward to seeing some familiar faces as well as meeting some new friends!

Jo is a graduate of Dickinson State in North Dakota, growing up in Rugby, N.D. Kansas is fondly deemed her "second home." She lives in Overland Park with her children Chrissy and Michael.
