Senior Swingers welcome many at Monday night dance
Monday night was the ending of a holiday weekend for many and our dance at Buck Run Community Center was just that. Our attendance was 68 and I was pleased for the turnout. A nice shower of rain was the start of the evening too but people came from many directions.
Jim and Joan Feighner came from Yates Center. He plays a good lead guitar and sings too. Where he plays at Burlington had closed for the night. So we were glad to have him in the band.
We had three new visitors. Dee Spillman and Carl and Ruby Francis from Blue Mound. Glad to see them out dancing throughout the evening.
Bob and Sheryl Reynolds from Chanute were celebrating their second wedding anniversary this past week on May 22. They come every once in awhile and love to dance all the dances.
Coral and Ken Face, my sister and her husband, from Prescott Valley, Ariz. were visiting here and enjoyed the evening dancing. We gave them a hand of welcome. They were here two years ago visiting.
John and Betty Carson made it to the dance, first time for quite awhile. He has been under the weather and friends visiting them this afternoon convinced them they should come to the dance tonight. They did quite a bit of dancing, too.
Lucille and John Goucher have been attending the dance very regularly since they came back to Fort Scott from Arizona. They had been square dancers for years and we are glad to have them back enjoying our type of dancing and getting reacquainted with friends.
There is only one dance to announce this week at Cadmus on Friday night.
