Fort Scott FFA holds annual parent banquet

FORT SCOTT, Kan. -- The Fort Scott FFA Chapter conducted its annual Parent Member Banquet on the night of Friday, May 11.

Members receiving their Greenhand Degrees include Austin Arnold, Blake Bolden, Lindsey Brown, Dalton Chadd, Clint Cowan, Jimmy Cox, Dustin Cutler, Monica Dikeman, Frankie Embry, Hannah Gander, Dakota Gillen, Josh Grant, Opal Heckman, Josh Hawkins, Tyler McDermed, Reece McKinney, J. W. Meech, Alisha Miller, Judd Murrell, Shelby Nafzger, Whitney Nickelson, Austin Parks, Nick Russell, Jessica Shapiro, Reanda Simmons-Mims, Ben Sinn, Michael Stevenson, Mitchell Stoughton, Levi Tweedy, Josh Waite, Denton Westcoat, Amanda Wolf, and Tyson Woodson. Members receiving their Chapter Degrees include Jessica Arens, Jacob Bradley, Seath Chadd, Brooke Combs, Cal Davis, Andrew Gant, Maggie Love, Alex Mason, Denver Mitchell, Keisha Phillips, Holly Schnichels, and Jared Snyder.

Members receiving State Degrees include Courtney Bohlken, Cody Meech, Elizabeth Meech, and Sabrina Minor. Our only member ever to receive the American Degree, a highly honored stature in our club, is Brook Bradbury.

Proficiency awards applied for by members of our chapter were also given out.

Meech both were awarded Star Greenhand. Tim Murphy received the recognition of Star Farmer. Concluding the meeting, the chapter installed 2007- 08 officers. The 200607 officer team is as follows: Cody Meech, alternate; Blake Tucker, parliamentarian; Susanna Holt, historian; Cody Combs, sentinel; Elizabeth Meech, reporter; Courtney Bohlken, treasurer; Sabrina Minor, secretary; D. J.

Swisher, vice president; and Tim Murphy, president. The 2007- 08 officers consist of the following: Austin Schofield, alternate; Jared Snyder, parliamentarian; Blake Tucker, historian; Cody Meech, sentinel; Holly Schnichels, reporter; Elizabeth Meech, treasurer; Courtney Bohlken, secretary; Cody Combs, vice president; and Sabrina Minor, president.

The chapter's next activity will consist of the Spring Beef, Lamb, and Meat Goat Show, June 9.
