Lou and Betty Dehn went to New Orleans to visit his high school buddy, Mike and Vickie Jennings on Friday evening April 27. On Sunday morning, Lou and Mike with son John flew to Taladego while the ladies were free to do their own thing.

John and Diane Stroud of Hepler, visited his aunt Oma Mitchell in Fort Scott, his cousin Mae Watt in Arcadia and his aunt Muriel Stroud in Arma all on Wednesday.

On Mother's Day, Arcadia Christian Church was the gathering of several families together for the morning worship services. Terry and Donald Bright were pleased to have as their guests their son, Rusty, wife Michelle and three children, Ashton, Madison and Wade Bright from Oologah, Okla.

Not only did Tom and Phyllis Watt enjoy Mother's Day with his mother, Mae Watt, but he celebrated his 57th birthday when the church group sang the birthday song as he gave his offering on Sunday.

They enjoyed dinner later that afternoon at Rockin' K. Back in Arcadia, they visited Sheffield Cemetery where they laid flowers in memory of Mae's mother, Gladys Wright, and in memory of Delton Watt's birthday.

Mae received phone calls and special cards from her other sons and wives who were not present plus grandson Douglas Watt and Linda and Bob Roweth.

Courtney Allen and Crystal Montayne did a special hand exercise before they went to their Sunday school class that was pleasing to the crowd in Arcadia Christian Church on Mother's Day. They had been practicing faithfully for Pastor David Peterson early on Sunday morning. Their special guests that morning were Rebecca Bridgewater and Aaron Heinrich.

Wayne and Christy Parrish honored his mother, Vera Parrish with breakfast at the Bamboo Palace on Sunday morning before attending church in Arcadia. Other guests and mothers being honored at the same time were family members, John Parrish, Jennifer and Ryan Dugan and their children.

Mary V. Shead was pleased to have her two sons and wives, Larry and Vickie Shead, Ralph and Cindy Shead, three grandchildren. Matthew Shead, Joel and Mitzi (Shead) Ray fill her pew at church on Mother's Day.

All gathered at the Shead farm where the young people and men folks catered and served the dinner that afternoon.

After communion in Arcadia Christian Church on Mother's Day, special guest, James Morrill, valedictorian of the 2007 Class graduating from Ozark Christian College this month gave the offering prayer.

Pastor David Peterson continued his series of sermons based on Revelations 21. Another special guest in the congregation was Bob Prettyman who said he would be visiting his mother, Annabelle Prettyman later that day.

Superintendent Bob Adams gave each lady present during the Sunday school hour a special box of Russell Stover's Chocolates.

Velma Jewell, former Arcadian and retired school teacher, both in country schools and in cities has recently moved from her home in Lockwood, Mo. to Ozark, Mo. into Riverview Residential Place. She invites her friends to visit her. She was quoted as saying "No more lawn care and housekeeping, just relaxation in my recliner." She chose this place in order to be nearer her son, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Jewell.

Mother's Day afternoon, Gary and Nancy Golloday came from Joplin, Mo. to visit his mother, Carole Garrison. That afternoon, th three enjoyed dinner at Chicken Mary's in celebration of the day.
