An 18-year-old Fort Scott man has been charged with criminal sodomy and sexual exploitation of a 15 year-old girl.

The Bourbon County Attorney on Wednesday charged Corey W. Davis with one count each of aggravated criminal sodomy and sexual exploitation of a child.

The sodomy charge is a severity level one felony that carries a maximum of 54 years in prison, if convicted.

Court documents said the incident allegedly occurred Jan. 27.

Fort Scott Police officers have been investigating the incident and filed a report on Feb. 2. Police arrested Davis around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was released at 12:15 p.m. Thursday on $25,000 bond. At his first appearance on Wednesday, a judge ordered Davis to be placed under house arrest with a stipulation that he can only go to and from school. He also can't have any contact with witnesses or the victim, nor can he engage in any drug or alcohol use.

Davis' next court appearance is set for Feb. 14.
