On Nov. 18, Betty and Dale Hixon attended the Gold Wing Road Riders Asoociation monthly meeting at the Prescott Community Building.
The Grace Baptist Tabernacle hosted a meal for all the Veterans and their families on Sunday, Nov. 12.
David and Sheila Blubaugh, and her parents, Bob and Francis Fursman, Colony, traveled to Irving, Texas, Tuesday, Nov. 21, to the home of the Blubaugh's daughter, Ethan and Amanda Smilie. Amanda fixed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner for them. They returned home on, Sunday, Nov. 26.
Sunday, Nov. 19, Betty Hixon, her mother, Dorothy DeCoudres, and her aunt, Esther Secrest enjoyed dinner at Chicken Mary's.
Wayne and Marge Stringer hosted a Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday, Nov. 25, for the following family members, Jim and Cynthia Stringer, Chris and Anndee Stringer and Genna, all of Rogers, Ark., Elizabeth and Ryan Kinnaman Siloam Springs, Ark., Jennifer Boggs and Madisin Robinson, Rose Hill, Matthew Stringer, Pittsburg, Hilary and Kamry Hutchison, Rhonda, Scott and Marliss Alien, all of Fort Scott.
Nov. 20, Dorothy DeCoudres and Betty Hixon attended the Fort Scott Garden Club. They met at the Scott View High Rise, with Beulah Queen as hostess. The officers furnished the snacks and beverage after the meeting.
Beverly and Larry Peel and Kirn Harris brought lunch and visited with Marjorie Lewis recently.
Coming to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with his parents, Carney and Estalee Simpson, were Roger, Kristen Simpson, Jonas and Harley, of Double Oak, Texas. They all traveled to Lenexa, to spend a few days, and had Thanksgiving dinner with the Simpson's two daughters, Carol and Ray Carter, Nathan and Patrick, Janet and Mike Keefer and Matthew.
Ron and Linda Center and James traveled to Fort Leavenworth, Tuesday, Nov. 14, and Tuesday, Nov. 21.
Larry and Beverly Peel hosted a Thanksgiving supper with turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, green bean salad, scalloped corn, relish plate, cheese dip, chips, hot rolls, red velvet cake, pumpkin pie, a other desserts, ice tea, and lemon aide. Present were, Jason Lewis, Brandy Tiffany, Stadeigh of Fort Riley, Ron and Leah Lewis, Bill and Ruth Lewis, Lisa and Taelor Lewis, Tiffany Lewis, Kansas City, Lindsey Lewis, St. Louis, Kitty Lewis, Aimee Lewis, Doug and Kim Harris, Nick Harris, Jeanna Ziegter, Hannah Harris and Lonnie Mengoult of Hepler, Tommy Busick of Kansas City, Mr. And Mrs. Brad Peel, Leesa, Lauren, Dillion and Brady Peel, Trintan Price of Fort Riley and Marjorie Lewis. All enjoyed the delicious meal. Later they enjoyed playing pool, playing cards and watching television.
Ron and Linda Center hosted dinner for their family Thanksgiving Day.
Sunday afternoon, Nov. 19, Beverly Peel, Mr. And Mrs. Doug Harris, Hannah and Nick and Jeanna Zeigler visited Marjorie Lewis and played cards. Later that evening, Larry and Brady Peel came with pizza, cheese sticks, pop and ice tea, and cookies.
Jack and Marge Stephan hosted Thanksgiving dinner for their family on, Saturday Nov. 25. Joining them were, Tim and Becky Stephan, Charlayne Wilson, Jim and Sharen Stewart, David and Shanda Stewart, Cole and Mya, Dennis and Lisa Stephan, Amanda and Emily Stephan, Brian Lancaster, Drew Stephan and Jessica Shadden all of Fort Scott. Sean and Bernitta Stephan, Ben, Rhoades and Victory, Chanute, Suzanne and Akmed of Chicago, Mark and Diane Stephan Wamego, Aaron Compton and Derek Stephan both of Pittsburg, Zachary Stephan, Sarah and her friend Derek all of Manhattan, Curtis and Allisan Strasburg and Haley and Amber, Elk City.
Becky Canaday had Thanksgiving dinner with her parents, Frank and Gypsy Hereford. Joining them for dinner Friday, was their son, Shawn.
Ron and Lean Lewis treated Marjorie Lewis out to supper Sunday night at Mayberry Restaurant.
Dale and Betty Hixon hosted Thanksgiving dinner for the following family members, Dorothy DeCoudres, Barry and Dana Button, Alissa and Alex, DeAnn Hixon all of Fort Scott, Denton and Annette Hixon, Raven and Christopher all of Uniontown.
Joe and Shirley White traveled to Burlington, to join other family members for Thanksgiving at the home of Shirley's brother, Bill and Donna Adams.
Ron and Linda Center and James traveled to Clinton, Mo., Saturday, Nov. 25 for Thanksgiving. Other family members joining them at the home of his sister, Nadine and Pole Easter, were, Ron's mother, Marian Center, his sister, Kathy and Monty Dade, Kayla, and Janessa of Golden City, Mo., Jackie and Ben Scott, McCune.
Beverly Peel was very surprised Sunday afternoon, Nov. 26, on her birthday, when she and her mother arrived at a restaurant, and found she was the recipient of a surprise birthday party. Her husband, Larry Peel, met them at the door. Bill Lewis directed them to another room. Her mother, Marjorie Lewis and her daughter, Kim Harris made the arrangements. Leah Lewis made a beautiful angel food cake. Kim and Doug Harris also brought a good chocolate cake. Everyone enjoyed birthday cake after their meal. Then Beverly opened her gifts and cards. Guest present were, Beverly and Larry Peel, Bill, Ruth, Lisa and Taelor Lewis, Doug, Kim Harris Hannah and Doug of Hepler, Kitty Lewis and Marjorie Lewis.
Ron and Linda Center and James enjoyed shopping in Joplin.
