WILMA LAURINE WHEELER
Wilma Laurine Wheeler, age 92, a resident of Fort Scott Medicalodge, died early Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at Mercy Health Center, Fort Scott. She was born August 4, 1914 in Oak Hill, Kansas the daughter of Ferd A. Buck and Carrie M. Smith Buck. Wilma was valedictorian of her Miltonvale Rural High School class. She married Kenneth Wheeler on November 10, 1935 in Miltonvale, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1970. She was a member of the Community Christian Church. Wilma loved quilting and any activity with the children.
Survivors include a son, D. Neill Wheeler and wife, Linda, Wichita, Kansas and a daughter, Karen Paddock and husband, Larry, Fulton, Kansas. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Richard Wheeler and two sisters, Juanita Studt and Vera Wheeler.
The Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct funeral services at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, in the Community Christian Church. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Miltonvale Cemetery in Miltonvale, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Cheney Witt Chapel.
