Chris Clausen and Arsenio Williams each had double doubles as they helped Fort Scott Community College's basketball team pull away for a 90-52 win over the Ottawa University JV at Arnold Arena Monday night.

It was Fort Scott's third home game in four days -- it's last until January 3 when conference play starts with a game against Kansas City Kansas. The Greyhounds don't play at all until December 2, when they'll face Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in the Jayhawk Shootout in Coffeyville.

Clausen made eight of 12 shots from the field and seven of nine free throws as he finished with a team-leading 23 points. He also had 12 rebounds as he recorded his third straight double double.

Williams came on the second half, scoring 13 of his 14 points and hauling down seven of his 10 boards.

Clausen and Williams are both freshmen.

Fort Scott, 6-2, jumped out to a 20-6 lead as the starting five of Clausen, Bateko Francisco, A.J. Rhea, Terrell Turner and Kyle Cooper all played the first seven minutes before the first substitution.

Ottawa caught up while the subs were getting up to speed but another Greyhound run pushed the lead to 15 points, 36-19, with 315 to go in the half.

The Braves scored the last seven points of the half to get within 10, 42-32. Ottawa made 56 percent of its shots from the field in the first half (14 of 25) while Fort Scott hit on only 36 percent of its shots (12 of 33).

The 'Hounds scored the first eight points of the second half. Another run midway through in which Williams scored six points made it 67-43 with 11 minutes to go.

A 16-2 run later made it 83-48. Ottawa also only scored two points in the final four minutes as its shooting percentage decreased dramatically. The Braves were just seven of 28 from the field in the second half.

Fort Scott was hot from the field in the second half, making 20 of its 32 field-goal tries even as Ottawa switched between man-to-man and zone. The Greyhounds also enjoyed tremendous advantages on the boards and in ball control on the night. They held a 49-23 rebounding advantage and picked up 20 steals.

Williams led the Greyhounds with four steals. Rhea had four assists.

Also scoring big for the 'Hounds were Cooper with 17 points as he was six o nine from the floor, Francisco with 16 points and Turner with 15.

Jordan Bauman led Ottawa with 15 points while Clay Fagan added 12.
