GARY LYNN JOHNSON
Gary Lynn Johnson, age 65, Pleasanton, Kansas died Saturday October 28, 2006 at his home in Pleasanton. Gary was born on December 16, 1940 in Fort Scott, Kansas the son of Kenneth and Rebecca Price Johnson. He taught in the Pleasanton Kansas Grade and High Schools as well as for Fort Scott Community College. He married Ann Casida on May 15, 1964 at Fort Scott. In addition to teaching, Gary owned and operated the Flower Boutique and continued to work there after he sold the business. He later worked at the Fort Scott and Clayton's Green Houses. He was a member of the Pleasanton United Methodist Church, the Jaycees, Lion's Club, and the Sugar Mound Arts and Crafts Committee. Survivors include his wife Ann of the home; three sons, Brian Johnson and Becky of Kansas City, Missouri, Casey Johnson and wife Nikki of North Kansas City, Missouri Dustin Johnson and wife Jenny of Newton, Iowa; one daughter, Kenda Johnson of Lenexa, Kansas; one brother, Kenneth Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister-in-law, Joyce Johnson; two brother-in-laws, Jim Casida and wife Lola and Dave Casida and wife Joann; and two grandchildren, Phoenix and Rylea.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in Pleasanton, Kansas. Burial in the Curry Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in Pleasanton. The family suggests contributions to the Pleasanton United Methodist Church.
