ANNA WADE

Anna Hayes Martin Wade, age 79, of Fort Scott, died Wednesday evening, October 25, 2006 at the Mercy Health Center. She was born December 30, 1926 in Jet, Oklahoma the daughter of George L. and Katherine Steffen Hayes.

Anna worked in Customer Service for Gates Rubber in Iola, for many years.

She is survived by her children, Sharry Rains and her husband Ron, of Fort Scott, Maryn Wiggins, of Fort Scott, and Loren Martin and his wife Patty, of Girard, Kansas; a brother, Carl Hayes, of Hayesville, Kansas; six grandchildren, Jill Phillips and her husband Randy, of Fort Scott, Brett Martin, of Farmington, Minnesota, Shannon Rains, of Fort Scott, Patrick Martin and Sara Martin, both of Girard, and Wesley Wiggins, of Fort Scott; and six great-grandchildren, Bethany Phillips and Jordan Phillips, both of Fort Scott, Destiny Martin, Meredith Martin, and Bobbi Ann Martin, all of North Carolina, and Kylie Rains, of Idaho.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Leonard Hayes, Howard Hayes, Robert Hayes, and William "Billie" Hayes; and one sister, Mary Barbara Sutterfield.

Funeral services for Anna will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2006 at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association, and left in the care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home, 15 West Wall Street, P.O.
