Commission proceeds with repairs to Memorial Hall facade

Because of safety concerns with the building, the Fort Scott City Commission on Tuesday unanimously approved a motion to move forward with repairs to the facade of Memorial Hall.

The commission approved by a 5-0 vote to accept a bid of $82,393 from Mid-Continental Restoration Co. of Fort Scott for a proposal to repair stones on the facade of the aging building, which houses various local organizations and has served as a venue for concerts and other entertainment.
