Tigers, Lady Tigers go 3-0 in Paola tournament

The Fort Scott Tiger and Lady Tiger basketball teams capped off undefeated 3-0 runs in the Paola Tournament with wins over the Paola Panthers Friday night.

The Lady Tigers (3-0) were able to move up and down the court in a transition offense, and their 2-2-1 defensive press forced several Paola turnovers, which led to points for the Tigers in a 53-13 walloping of the Lady Panthers. The Lady Tigers were also solid at the free-throw line.

The Tiger boys (3-0) were successful in the lane and at the charity stripe in the second quarter, and also saw solid play on both sides of the ball from senior center Rocco Loffredo, who scored nine of his game-leading 18 points in the fourth quarter. Loffredo’s fourth quarter play helped the Tigers to a 45-29 victory.
