Local disaster declaration made in response to early morning storm

Bourbon County Commissioners on Thursday approved a resolution proclaiming a state of local disaster for Bourbon County, with hopes of getting federal funding if the county meets a certain threshold.

Commissioners talked with Chief Operations Officer Shane Walker and Public Works Director Eric Bailey about wind and rain storms that have impacted the county within the last week. Portions of the county sustained damage from high winds that blew through early Wednesday morning.
