Slots open for city, school board November elections
Several seats on city commissions and councils, as well as school boards in Bourbon County, will be up for election in 2023.
Bourbon County Clerk Jennifer Hawkins said currently, not enough candidates have filed for a primary election, but as the deadline to file for the election is June 1, “we could potentially have a primary election in August.” The general election will be Nov. 7.
Any person wishing to file for any office must be a qualified elector of the corresponding city or school district. If filing by petition, the petition has to be turned in within 180 days after the first signature was collected, but not later than noon June 1, according to information from the county clerk’s office.
