Jimmey Lee Bartlett

Jimmey Lee Bartlett, age 65, resident of Louisburg, Kan., (formerly Fort Scott, Kan.), died Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Olathe Medical Hospital. He was born Oct. 31, 1956, in Stillwater, Okla., the son of Dorothy L. (Adams) Boyd and Leroy Bartlett. He graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1974, Fort Scott Community College in 1978, and attended one year at Pittsburg State in business. He served in the U.S. Army in 1974, stationed in Germany as a Pershing Missile crewman (Secret Clearance) as expert M16/grenade. He retired after 33 years from the U.S. postal service (APWU union member). Jimmey enjoyed the outdoors, TV shows, and his family.

Survivors include his four children: Jason Bartlett (wife Angela) of Louisburg, Kan., Justin Bartlett (Amanda) of Key West, Fla., Seth Bartlett of Mission, Kan., and Amber Bartlett of Leesburg, Va.; siblings: Cindy Smith (husband Richard) of Fort Scott, Kan., Lori Porter (husband Russell) of Tuttle, Okla., Charles D. Smith Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Rodney Boyd (wife Rebekah) of Mustang, Okla.; grandchildren: Kallee Bartlett, Kaven Bartlett, Hunter Bartlett, Gunnar Bartlett, and London Bartlett; nieces and nephews: Ashley Smith, Jeff Smith, Sean Smith, Levi Trimmell (wife Kyla), Casey Porter, Cade Porter, Brandon Smith, Shelby Smith, Bailey Smith, Tegan Loya (husband Eduardo), Ryder Boyd, Rusty Boy;, great nieces and nephews: Abram, Amelia, and August Trimmell, Rosalind Loya, Karter Boyd. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy L. Boyd, his father R. Wayne Boyd and Leroy Bartlett, his brothers Daniel and David Boyd.

A celebration visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2022, at the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main St. Fort Scott, KS 66701. Burial will follow at the Fort Scott National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard.
