City sales tax election is Tuesday

Advance voting at the courthouse began Monday, Feb. 22. and will end at noon Monday, March 1.

Voting hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Bourbon County.

This election is for voters residing in the city limits of Fort Scott.

Voters must bring a photo ID.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Polling locations are:

First, fourth, fifth and sixth wards, Community Christian Church, 1919 S. Horton St.;

Second, third and seventh wards, Grace Baptist Church, 502 S. Margrave St.

The question on the ballot asks Fort Scott residents whether an existing .5 percent city-wide sales tax should be continued after it expires on June 30. The original 10-year tax was implemented in 2010 for improvements to Buck Run Community Center and the Fort Scott Aquatic Center.
