Kenneth “Kenny” Dean Monroe

Kenneth “Kenny” Dean Monroe, age 34, a resident of Fort Scott, Kan., passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo. He was born Dec. 28, 1984, in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Charles Monroe and Lori Culp.

Kenny was a devoted father who thought the world of his three children. He was the guy that everyone wanted to be around, always trying to lift spirits, crack jokes and pull pranks. He was so full of life with such a contagious smile. He loved taking his kids on adventures, spending time with family and friends, and if you couldn’t find him, he was fishing. Kenny had a talent for cooking as he was the chef at Crooners, and also working with the public at Libation Station.

Kenny is survived by two daughters, Kenna and Kelsy Monroe, and one son, Kole Monroe-Vigliaturo, all of Fort Scott; two sisters, Megan Woods and husband Brian of Bronson, and Kayla Bolden and husband Justin of La Cynge, and seven nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Daulton, Cayden and Nataliah Woods, Gage, Sophia, and Gunnar Bolden; a grandfather, Joseph Parker, and three aunts, Carolyn Monroe, Beverley parker and Kim Leavell.

He was preceded in death by both parents and many other family members.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Liberty Theatre.
