Top three in city race unchanged

The top three vote-getters for three spots on the Fort Scott City Commission remain the same after Bourbon County Commissioners conducted an official canvass of provisional ballots Thursday morning.

According to results of the Nov. 5 election, which are still unofficial, the top three vote-getters are Harold “Pete” Allen with 727 votes, Kevin “Skitch” Allen with 702 votes, and Lindsey Watts with 681 votes. Unofficial results released election night show Harold “Pete” Allen had 714 votes, Kevin “Skitch” Allen had 688 votes, Watts had 661 votes, and Deb McCoy had 655 votes.

Figures released Thursday show McCoy finished with 663 votes, Josh Jones had 622 votes, and Cynthia Bartelsmeyer had 612 votes. There were 47 write-in votes in the city commission race.

County Clerk Kendell Mason said Thursday election results were still unofficial as write-in votes were to be tabulated by Thursday afternoon.
