Tigers advance to regional championship

After taking an early lead, the No. 2 seeded Fort Scott Tiger varsity baseball team (20-1 overall, 11-1 in the SEK) cruised to an 11-3 win over the No. 18 seeded Louisburg Wildcats (4-15) in a Class 4A East regional semifinal game Tuesday afternoon in Fort Scott.
The win was the Tigers’ 20th straight this season and catapulted the team into the regional championship game Tuesday night against the No. 7 seeded Ottawa Cyclones (10-8.) The Cyclones defeated the No. 10 seeded Paola Panthers (9-9) 6-5 in a first-round game Tuesday in Fort Scott.
The Wildcats defeated No. 15 seeded Parsons (3-10) 10-6 in a play-in game Monday at Parsons.
