Middle school basketball update
Saturday, Nov. 10: Seventh-grade A at Frontenac.
The Tigers fell to Frontenac in their first game of the tournament, 22-12. Bailey Couch had 7 points for the Tigers and Carsen Wunderly had 9 rebounds.
The Tigers beat Pittsburg in the third-place game, 48-3. Couch scored 17 points and Wunderly added 9.
Saturday, Nov. 10: Seventh-grade “B” at Prairie View.
The Tigers lost their first game to Prairie View, 37-4, but defeated Wellsville, 13-10, for third place. Emma Mix and Tylar Rogers had 4 points each.
Tuesday, Nov. 13: vs. Pittsburg.
The seventh-grade A team beat Pittsburg, 31-24, as Keegan Yarick led the Tigers with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Couch added 8 points.
The seventh-grade B team prevailed, 16-15, in overtime. Kelsey Taylor led the Tigers with 6 points.
The eighth-grade A team won over Pittsburg, 35-15. Berkley Wood scored 10 points while Makenzie Murphy grabbed 15 rebounds. Lanie Krokroskia had 6 steals.
The eighth-grade B team beat Pittsburg, 44-10, as Liberty Sigmon scored 22 points. Tyler Rogers and Ashley Colvin added 8 each.
Thursday, Nov. 15 vs. Chanute-Royster.
The seventh-grade A team beat the Rockets, 23-31. Wunderly scored 10 points while Yarick had 8 for the Tigers. The B team lost 27-2.
The eighth-grade A tam won 30-22 as Jesse Comstock scored 7 points. Krokroskia and Jaden Loercher each added 6 points.
The eighth-grade B team won, 21-4. Cody Taylor led the Tigers with 13 points in the victory.
