Eagles fourth in home tourney
UNIONTOWN — Uniontown’s volleyball team finished fourth in its home tournament here Saturday while Northeast was unable to advance out of pool play.
The Eagles (13-16) were 3-1 in Pool B. They lost their opening match to Crest, 25-17, 25-21. They beat Altoona-Midway, 25-11, 25-3, Yates Center, 26-24, 25-20, and Galena, 25-16, 20-25, 25-18.
Northeast (7-24) lost to Riverton, 25-16, 25-21, beat Richmond-Central Heights, 25-22, 25-13, lost to Southern Coffey County, 25-11, 25-4, and lost to Marmaton Valley, 25-22, 19-25, 25-10.
In the third-place match, Uniontown was swept by Southern Coffey County, 25-18, 25-16. Riverton won the championship by beating Crest in 3 sets, 25-13, 21-25, 25-10.
Uniontown was on the road Tuesday night, facing Oswego and Altoona-Midway in Three Rivers League matches at Oswego. They will host a non-league triangular Thursday versus Marmaton Valley and Pleasanton before traveling to the Osawatomie Tournament Saturday.
Northeast was at Pleasanton Tuesday night for a TRL triangular that also included Yates Center. Monday night, the Vikings will have their Senior Night matches against Bronaugh, Mo., and Amoret, Mo.-Miami, which will conclude regular-season play.
