Five named to All-SEK baseball list

Friday, June 1, 2018

Five members of Fort Scott High School’s baseball team received honors from Southeast Kansas League coaches as All-League teams were released Tuesday.

Fort Scott saw three players named to the First Team: Matt Campbell, Brady Masters and Alec Michaud. The Tigers also had two players picked for Honorable Mention status, Ty Gorman and Kieran Houlihan.

League champion Pittsburg had the most players chosen, six in total with four on the First Team.

Campbell, a junior, was also chosen for the Class 4A-Division I All-State team by the Kansas Baseball Coaches Association as a first baseman. He was the only player from the SEK chosen at this level although Pittsburg seniors Alex Kalfka and Ty Cicero made the All-Class 5A Honorable Mention list. Four Parsons players were picked at the Class 4A-Division II level including Luke Wolgamott as a First Team first baseman, Noah Chalker as a pitcher and Jaden Ponce as an outfielder on the Second Team, and Noah Proel as a second baseman on the Honorable Mention list. The Vikings finished third at last weekend’s Class 4A-Division II State Tournament.
