Five Tigers make All-SEK softball teams

Fort Scott High School saw five players named to the All-Southeast Kansas League softball team, voted on by league coaches and released earlier this week.

Three members of the league runner-up Tigers were picked to the First Team: Lane Bohlken, Aburey Ard, and Kenady Poyner. Mia Bryant and Lexi Milburn were chosen for the Second Team.

League champion Independence, which went on to finish second at the Class 4A-Division I State Tournament, had six players chosen with four of those on the First Team.

FIRST TEAM

Chanute: Madyson Thompson, Taylor Thompson.

Coffeyville: Chelsea Homan.

Fort Scott: Lane Bohlken, Aubrey Ard, Kenady Poyner.

Independence: Hannah Burnett, Lyssa Schabel, Taylor Howlans, Morgan Mavers.

Labette County: Tristan Gegg.

Parsons: Bre Bedore.

Pittsburg: Myla Turner, Madden Petty.

HONORABLE MENTION

Chanute: Kara Drake, Rachel Jackett.

Coffeyville: Sydney Rooks

Fort Scott: Mia Bryant, Lexi Milburn.

Independence: Aubree Lawrie, Qwynn Marquez.

Labette County: Katelyn Helwig.
