Fort Scott to host 2019 State Debate Tournaments

The Kansas State High School Activities Association Thursday named the sites of championship events for the 2018-19 winter sports season, choosing Fort Scott High School as host of the Class 4A and Class 3-2-1A State Debate Tournaments.

The tournaments will be held January 11 and 12, 2019.

With the elimination of divisions in classes 4A and 1A, there are only six venues for State Basketball tournaments next season. Class 6A will be held at Wichita State University. Class 5A moves to White Auditorium in Emporia. Class 4A will be held in Salina, where the Class 4A-Division I State Tournament took place. Class 3A will continued to be held in Hutchinson while Class 2A moves to Hays and Class 1A’s single tourney will be held in Dodge City.

State Wrestling tournaments will remain in their current venures. Classes 6A and 5A remain at Hartman Arena in Park City. Class 4A stays in Salina and Class 3-2-1A will continue to be held in Hays.
