George scores 32 in Eagle boys’ win

Uniontown boys 55, Crest 42.

UNIONTOWN — Ben George scored 32 points and hauled down 6 rebounds here Friday night, leading Uniontown’s boys to a 55-42 win over Crest in Three Rivers League action.

Andrew Reed added 9 points for the Eagles (3-2 TRL, 5-8 overall).

The Eagles led 15-14 after one period but shut Crest (2-3, 4-8) out in the second in extending the lead to 13 points.

Crest girls 44, Uniontown 34.

UNIONTOWN — Ben George, Luke GeorgeKeely Goodridge scored 9 points in Uniontown’s 44-34 loss to Crest. Makensee Franklin added 7 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Karleigh Schoenberger contributed 9 rebounds.

The Eagles fell to 1-4 in the league and 2-11 overall. Crest improved to 3-2, 5-7.

Both Uniontown teams host Chetopa Tuesday night.

Northeast boys 69, St. Paul 61.

ST. PAUL — Northeast’s boys have won four straight games and eight of their last nine following a 69-61 battle between two of the three teams that were unbeaten in Three Rivers League play going into Friday night. The Vikings’ only loss during this run was to Colgan in the first round of the Tony Dubray Classic in Lineral, Mo., last week. Northeast is 8-1 since beginning the season with a four-game losing streak.

The Vikings improved to 5-0 in the league and 8-5 overall. St. Paul fell to 4-7, 7-5. Yates Center was also undefeated in league play but no score was available from the Wildcats’ game at Marmaton Valley by press time.

St. Paul girls 55, Northeast 24.

ST. PAUL — St. Paul’s girls, ranked No. 5 in Class 1A-Division I by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association, remained in first place in the Three Rivers League following a 55-24 win over Northeast here Friday night. The Indians are 5-0 in league play, 10-2 overall.

Northeast fell to 1-4, 3-10 following its sixth loss in seven games.

Both Northeast teams play at Oswego Tuesday night.
