Three finish in top 20 for Uniontown

FREDONIA —Three Uniontown golfers finished in the top 20 at the Fredonia Class 3-2-1A Regional Tournament here Monday, although none of them were able to advance to State.

Junior Aubry O’Neal finished 16th with her total of 126. Liberty Franks tied for 17th with a score of 130. And Laryn Thompson was 19th at 132. Also competing for the Eagles was Ashton Church, who shot 222. The Eagles finished fourth as a team at 610.

Winnie Shaw of Wichita Independent was the individual champion with an 81, 10 strokes better than runners-up Elizabeth Rogers and Kendra Gardner of Caney Valley.

Caney Valley, three-time defending 3-2-1A State champion, won its eighth consecutive Regional title with a four-woman score of 369, which was 101 strokes better than runner-up Eureka.
