Franklin D. Stephens
Franklin D. Stephens, 83, of Fort Scott, Kan., died at 2:57 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at the Arma Health and Rehabilitation Center at Arma, Kan.
Mr. Stephens was born Aug. 12, 2933, at Dearborn, Mo., the son of Oscar and Ellen Fetter Stephens. Franklin was a retired truck driver for Bruce-Yellow Transit Company. He was raised in Dearborn, Mo., and graduated from Dearborn High School. He later attended Vo-Tec College at Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Survivors include two daughters, Terri Ronning and her husband Wayne of Arma and Jewellie Stephens of Texas, two sons, Michael Stephens of Kansas City, Mo., and Dale Stephens of Tonganoxie, Kan., three sisters, Lillian Lehman of Republic, Mo., Donnie Wolfington of Kansas City, Mo., and Dorothy Wytek of Chicago, Ill., one brother, Bob Stephens of Kansas City, Mo., and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Gay Stephens, a sister, Margie Caton, and a brother, Raymond Stephens.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at the Bedena Funeral Home at Arma, Kan., with the Rev. Glenn Duderstadt officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Bedene Chapel prior to the services.
