Uniontown’s baseball team split with Erie at home April 25 in a non-league doubleheader. The Eagles won game one 4-2 but lost the nightcap 9-7.

Although Erie scored a run in the sixth and seventh innings, Eagle pitchers Nick Hathaway and Cale Coyan combined on a no-hitter. Hathaway pitched the first 4 2/3 innings, striking out 4 batters. Coyan allowed one earned run on 3 walks and struck out 3.

The Eagles (8-2) only need 4 hits themselves to take the win. Jesse Kuns scored the first run in the second inning when he walked and advanced to second, third and home on passed balls.

Andrew Reed singled in Bradyn Holsinger in the bottom of the fourth and scored when Erie’s pitcher tried to pick him off but instead threw the ball away. That made it 3-0.

David Bradbury scored the final run in the sixth. He hit a leadoff single, stloe second and scored on a 2-out error to make it 4-1.

Uniontown tied the second game with 6 runs in the bottom of the third. But Erie went on to score 2 in the top of the sixth and one in the seventh.
