Eagle baseball takes two from Wildcats

UNIONTOWN — Uniontown swept Marmaton Valley here Tuesday in a Three Rivers League doubleheader at the UHS baseball field. The Eagles won the opener 11-1 and the second game 13-3.

The Eagles (5-1 TRL, 7-1 overall) needed only 7 hits to beat the Wildcats in the first game. Nick Hathway was 2 for 3 for the Eagles. Andrew Reed drove in 2 runs.

Uniontown took the lead in the opener with 3 runs in the second inning. They added 4 in the third and again in the fifth.

Nick Hathaway pitched all 5 innings, allowing an unearned run on 3 hits and a walk with 8 strikeouts.

Graham Hathaway was 3 for 4 in game two. Nick Hathaway was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Cale Coyan was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI. Andrew Reed also drove in 2 runs.

The Eagles will play Erie at home in a non-league doubleheader on Tuesday.
