Eagle girls win in OT

CHETOPA -- Unionrown's girls defeated Chetopa, 58-53, in overtime here Tuesday night, moving into a 3-way tie with the Green Hornets and Northeast for fifth place in the Three Rivers League.

The Eagles (2-3 TRL, 6-8 overall) were led by Shalina Harper's 33 points. Holly Shinn had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Chetopa fell to 2-3, 5-7.

Uniontown's boys (4-1, 9-5) are in a tie for second with Yates Center following a 67-34 win over Chetopa (0-5, 1-11). Colt Sutterby scored 17 points for the Eagles, Garrett Elder added 16 and Ben George finished with 14.

The Eagles led 25-7 after one period of play and 40-14 at the half.

Yates Center (4-1, 11-2) stayed tied with Uniontown with a 62-22 win over Crest. Jayhawk-Linn leads the TRL at 4-0, 10-3.

Both Uniontown teams will play at Marmaton Valley Friday night.
